Region of Peel– Investigators from the Special Victims Unit have arrested and charged a man in relation to a sex assault investigation in the city of Brampton.
In September of 2018, the suspect attended a store in the area of Steeles Avenue and Highway 410 in Brampton. He asked an employee, a 19 year-old woman from Brampton, to assist him with trying on a shirt. When the victim refused, the suspect sexually assaulted her. The incident was not reported to police at the time.
On Tuesday, October 1, 2019, the suspect attended the same store and asked another employee for assistance trying on a shirt. While the victim, a 27 year-old woman from Brampton, was assisting the suspect, he sexually assaulted her.
On Sunday, October 6, 2019 a 96 year-old man from Brampton was arrested and charged with two counts of Sexual Assault. He was released with a future court date.
Investigators are looking to speak to anyone with further information as it relates to this case.
